How often do you typically schedule sessions and how long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 or 90 minutes in length and are held once a week for the first few weeks or month of services. Once you are seeing improvements, the frequency of meetings are re-evaluated and may move to bi-weekly or once monthly sessions.


What will our first session look like?
The goal will be for you to feel comfortable, respected, heard, and understood. Jana will learn more about what brings you to seek services, what you would like to be different, and gather some life history and current life circumstances. Together we will create goals and a plan to guide us toward the outcome you are seeking. I will share some of therapeutic approaches and determine what intervention and support will be most helpful in your individual situation.


What are your session fees and do you accept insurance?
Session fees are $180 per 50 minute session for individuals who privately pay. A superbill can be given at each session for submission to insurance companies who often will reimburse a portion of the session directly to client.

Jana is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem. Individuals who chose to use their insurance plan will owe what copay, deductible, or coinsurance dictated by his/her individual plan.. If you want to know how much your insurance company is willing to cover for mental health and substance abuse services, you should call the customer service phone number on the back of your insurance card or log on to your insurance account online for this information.


Should I use my insurance to pay for Mental Health Services?
This is a personal choice based on your current situation. Many people elect not to use their health care plans to cover of mental health services, and chose to pay for these independently. This is usually based concerns about the privacy of their protected health information, concerns regarding the insurance requirement to have a diagnosis in order to access services, and concerns with who this information may be shared with in the future through insurance companies and their affiliates.


What happens if I cannot make our scheduled appointment?
Appointments canceled 24 hours in advance are rescheduled at a more convenient time. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance are subject to the full session fee for a late cancellation or in the event of missing a scheduled appointment and not providing notice. Please contact Jana as soon as you know the appointment will not occur as scheduled.
