Connection and Support for Birthgivers with Substance Use During the Perinatal Period
This One Day Training is open to all professionals who desire to deepen their understanding of substance use during the Perinatal period.
The topic of substance use during pregnancy and the perinatal period elicits strong reactions from people, including providers of perinatal mental health and substance use care. The division in the care continuum has created silos of assistance that makes it difficult for people to access care. This training will provide a solid foundation on the different ways of substance use presents and will focus on providers learning how to maintain a non-judgmental approach to connect and support healing with this population. Participants will increase their confidence and skill set on how to engage with this highly vulnerable population and promote healing and healthy support.
